For more than four decades, LIFE Senior Services has strategically grown to meet the emerging needs of an ever increasing and diverse aging population. LIFE provides solutions that allow older adults to maintain their independence and live their lives to the fullest. Centers for active aging, caregiver education and support, volunteer opportunities and affordable housing are just a few of the programs and services that make life better for thousands of older adults each year.

Volunteer Opportunities:

LIFE Senior Services is looking for people to help others in our community by becoming a volunteer with the Medicare Assistance Program (MAP). In partnership with the Oklahoma Insurance Department, MAP provides free, unbiased education and counseling year-round to Medicare beneficiaries in northeastern Oklahoma. Our busiest times are leading up to and during Medicare open enrollment, October 15th thru December 7th. There are volunteer roles ranging from basic office support to assisting Medicare enrollees in conducting plan comparisons and enrolling in the plan of their choice. All volunteers receive training to prepare them for the work.

 

LIFE Senior Services’ Tax Assistance Program (TAP) is looking for people to help others in our community by becoming a volunteer with the Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) Program at LIFE Senior Services. Volunteer roles range from basic office support to assisting low to moderately low income seniors, age 60 and older, file their taxes for free.  All volunteers will receive training, and individuals with a CPA or accounting background are preferred.  Training is begins in January, in preparation for the start of tax season in February.
