Volunteer Opportunities
(Sep 13) The Frank Phillips Home is looking for volunteers who can donate
3 to 12 hours a month providing tours and educational services for museum guests. Docents will meet new people, learn Bartlesville's early history, and help make an impact on our community.
The role of our docents is two-fold: (1) serve as hosts and provide a welcoming atmosphere and (2) serve as an interpreter of the Home, helping to give the visitor a deeper understanding and appreciation of the lives of Frank and Jane Phillips.
Training is scheduled for the first Saturday of each month from 9-11am at the Home. New docents are required to attend the training, complete the reading in the docent packet, and shadow train with docents on tours. In addition, you will receive additional training from the monthly Lunch and Learn sessions. Docents are asked to work a minimum of one 3-hour shift each month, Wed through Sun.
For those persons interested in applying for docent training, please contact the Frank Phillips Home to pick up an application; references are required. Fully-guided tours are given Wed through Sat from 10am-4pm and Sun from 1-4pm (last tour begins at 4pm each day). For an application packet or more information, call Debbie Speer, Historical Interpreter, at 918-336-2491 or dspeer@okhistory.org.
