Wagoner County - Wagoner, OK (918) 485-8992 ∙ EMail: wagonerrsvp@windstream.net
Volunteerism is the lifeblood for some 55+ retirees. A special volunteer, Ann, is generally confined to home taking care of family members but needed a weekly break to help maintain her own health. Ann used to teach crochet classes and when she learned of our Nifty Needlers group, she joined. Every week, Ann brings a wide variety of hats in colors and patterns and she teaches us different crochet techniques. She looks forward to her re-energizing break and we look forward to her expertise. The group has crocheted over 100 hats since January 2008 that will be given to DHS Child Welfare and Wagoner Area Neighbors at the United Way Day of Caring in September. Nifty Needlers meet Wednesdays from 9:30-10:30.
You are likely to hear whoopin’ and hollerin’ and laughin’ up a storm when the Arthritis Exercise Class is in session. For one hour, they laugh and have fun while stretching and increasing their mobility and flexibility. They have developed good friendships and I look forward to seeing their smiling faces every week. Arthritis Exercisers meet Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30-10:30.
