The RSVP purpose is to connect senior volunteers to meaningful community service work. Volunteers have the option of serving at a favored non-profit or public agency, or to be matched with a position that allows utilization of skills and interests and fits into a personal time schedule.  There's a match for everyone interested in serving our communities!

"Make the most of yourself, for that is all there is of you."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

What is the
Retired and Senior Volunteer Program?

The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program is one of the largest volunteer efforts in the nation. As an RSVP volunteer, you choose where you serve, how you serve, when you serve, and the type of impact you wish to have on your community. RSVP staff strives to match your skills, experience, and interests with community needs.

The needs of Tulsa, Creek, Washington, and Wagoner Counties in Oklahoma are diverse and numerous. The top priority of RSVP is to ensure self-fulfillment and personal satisfaction in service assignments. During 2002, RSVP volunteers provided service to 202 agencies.  Hours of service contributed by impact area were: health and nutrition, 58,684; human needs, 36,124; education, 26,641; environmental, 12,655; public safety, 11,798.  Many of the agencies and organizations would not exist without the time, experience, expertise, skills, and dedication contributed by volunteers.

How Can I Become An RSVP Volunteer?

You can make a difference in your community regardless of how much time you have to give. The RSVP staff will work one-on-one with you to ensure that you experience a rewarding placement. What Do RSVP Volunteers Do?

RSVP volunteers provide hundreds of community services through participating RSVP Agencies. When you volunteer, you may continue in your professional field or choose an assignment for the new challenge it offers. Whatever your skill, experience, interest, or goal, it can be put to good use for the benefit of the community and you, the volunteer.

Are you currently volunteering with a local non-profit agency? You can join RSVP and continue with the volunteer assignment and/or choose another opportunity or a special event assignment.
